The kids started 6th and 8th grade this week. The drop offs went well.  Hannah still likes to be walked down to the front of the school and we walked Tyler down but let him find his buds on his own.
We ended the week with a birthday party, a trip to the comic con museum and the Filipino Heritage Festival.  The kids enjoyed. They came away with some cool souvenirs from the museum and Filipino shirts from the festival.
Oh and I'm excited to be home for the next 2 weeks before the long haul of 6 weeks at being at moms.

This was the kids' last week of summer and it was a complete doozie for them. We did absolutely nothing because I've been working and taking care of mom since Ralph left last week. Dan hardly ever takes time off to hang with the kids.  As a matter of fact he has been so wrapped up in his nintendo switch game that he's been merely a lump on a log.  The kids are often times disappointed that he doesn't engage with us.  I'm not sure what to do about it either.  I mention it to him and he just shrugs it off.
Anyway, the only outside thing the kids have done this week was the La Mesa Farmers market on Friday.  They both filled up on some good eats there.   Tyler was also able to pick up some books from Barnes and Nobles.   Next year I'll need to do better with planning fun things for them throughout the summer.
Here we are in a Sunday under Tropical Storm Watch Hilary.  The eye of the storm hits us between 3-6pm.  It's about 230p and its been pretty mild so far. It's been a constant drizzle since about midnight. Moms house is leaking again, surprise surprise.  Im debating whether I'm going to brave the roads and head home to see the family or not.  Haven't decided yet.  Trying to see how bad the rain gets and if the winds will start blowing like they said it would.

This was our last hoorah for the summer.  We spent a few days at Sun Outdoors by the Bay, Monday to Wednesday.  We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves.  But it got tainted with drama from Jim about the Apostille for the special power of attorney needed for moms land.  I went off on him and now he wants an apology over the phone which will never happen.  So I decided he can go to hell and I decided I will not have anything to do with him from here on out.
We also completed back to school shopping for the kids.  Oh and we watched the Barbie movie to kick off our little staycation.  It was a great week. I'll be back at moms for the next 2 weeks and won't be home for the kids first day for the 2nd year in a row.

This week went by pretty fast and suspect next week will go by even faster.
Work has been uneventful. Home life has been busy. We started back to school shopping this week. Tyler cleaned out his dresser and closet do we needed to refresh his wardrobe.  Hannah bought a couple pieces of clothes. Next up is shoes for them.  I think we'll need to go to the mall for shoes. They both want vans. Tyler want a pair of Nike and Hannah wants chucks.
We ended the week with a picnic for kids and their friends.  Tyler's buds all came thru but Hannah's group was a bit more flakey.  At the end of the day everyone had a great time.
We're Bay camping next week so we're pretty excited..and we get to take the pup with us.
