This week was a very busy one...for home at least.   I admitted mom to home hospice on Tuesday because she's been declining.  She continues to refuse food, drink and her meds.  We've stopped all meds now. The doctor estimates days to weeks to live. At this point we will keep her comfortable.
She had a few friends come and visit her.  I suspect family will begin visiting soon.
Ralph has been in town since yesterday which is great but now I'm having to help put her to bed every night so not sure how him being here is helping me.  I'm having to drive over more than I had to while I stayed with her each night.
On a much more positive note, Hannah received the principals award for having a 4.0 last semester of 6th grade.

So this week was a pretty tough week.  Mom has been refusing to eat, drink and take meds.  She hasn't pooped for 8 days now so it's been a pretty big challenge with her as of late. She also sleeps a lot and has been very weak because she isn't eating.
We were seek by a doctor on Saturday.  I asked for a referral to hospice.  Mom is ready to die.  She no longer has anything to live for.  Her life is rather depressing.  She just stays at home to sleep and watch tv.
Come to find out, she has another UTI. So I started her macrobid just in case.    But the reality is that I don't know how well she will tolerate it.
I know that i have some very tough decisions ahead of me in the coming days, weeks and months.

This week I moved back to moms. It's been a challenge more so now than it's ever been.  I feel bad because we are becoming mean to her.  I'm beginning to resent her for keeping me away from my family when all she's done is given up on life.  So it passes me off that I'm stuck w her when I could be with my family in my own home.
This week will be tough because it's go live week for MAS and there's a new caregiver that's filling in because the last one quit...because of Ralph.  I also need to try and do dinner on Wednesday with some coworkers and the boss.
Not looking forward to the week.

So I've been home this week and it's been pretty nice.  Work slowed down some so I'm able to get some chores done around the house.  It's been really nice.
I went to moms to take her a shower on Sunday and I'm realizing that my mom is declining more and more.  Her body is getting skinnier and skinnier.  She's not able to stand anymore so moving her around has been difficult.  I'm reminded that I'll need to cherish these times because I think they're numbered.

This was a pretty busy week again with work. The kids are settling into school just fine.
Ralph came back and so I'm home for the next 2 weeks. So we got to celebrate by taking the kids to Liberty Public Market for dinner.   Hannah was craving lobster rolls.   Her craving was satisfied.
Tyler went to his first high school football game. He seemed to have a great time.  I'm glad he's getting out there and being with friends.
