This week was filled with family. The Sams Clan congregated to Tenkiller Lodge in Oklahoma to celebrate the life of an amazing woman, Wynona Marcelle Buckner Sams.  She was Dan's grandmother on his mother's, Donna, side.   She was such an amazing woman. A true matriarch to her family who loved with all her heart and being.   When I first met her she told me how God must have sent me Danny's direction because her sisters name was Jimmie Christine.  What do I remember about her the most?  She loved to write letters. We traded letters a few times a year. I tried to write to her regularly but life had different plans for me.  She also had the soft and wet kisses, I describe them as butterfly kisses. I'm very glad that I forced Dan to attend her celebration of life.
We spent the weekend with family. We visited the Cherokee museum. I learned that affluent Cherokees were slave owners. And the great great great grandfather was one of the chiefs who was supposed to meet the king of England.   We also turned all the paperwork in to the Cherokee Registration department in hopes that the kids will be mailed their Cherokee Tribe IDs.
The kids obviously had a blast and wish they could stay longer than just a few days.

This was the last week for school.  The kids are happy they don't have to wake up and get ready. They'll both miss seeing their friends everyday but hoping they'll be able to see their friends over the summer.
No huge plans for us.  We are going to Oklahoma to celebrate great grandma Marcella this coming week. We'll only be in Oklahoma for the weekend.  Super short trip but super important for us to be there.

This was the last full week of school for the kids.  They turned in their iPads and are enjoying the end of year activities.
Hannah performed in a play this week. She did great.  We heard all her lines and she said them with confidence.
Tyler went to Dave and Busters with his classmates.  He did great.  He was nice enough to buy food and share with his friends who didn't haven't enough money.
Summer break starts for them both on Thursday.

This week was an eventful one.  Hannah turned 11 on Wednesday. In true Hannah fashion we celebrated with decorations, pork chops, Texas hash, blowing candles out over crumbl cookies and opening all her presents with everyone gathered around.  She's growing so fast and turning into a responsible and respectful human being.
Sophie ended up having emergency surgery on Saturday night.  We noticed that she was bleeding from her mouth on Thursday and got worse as the days progressed. She had a mouth tumor on the inside of her gum.  The vet removed it and sent it out for a biopsy. We are hoping it's not cancer.  She's such a good dog. I'm worried that we'll need to say goodbye too soon.
