So this week was a big week for Tyler. On Wednesday we did the first of back to school shopping at the Viejas Outlet Center. Then we watched the sunset at Mount Soledad. Then on Friday we went to the La Mesa Farmer's Market as a family. Danny came with and we had dinner at Surf Rider Pizza. It was really nice to be out as a family of 4. On Saturday Tyler went blonde. He's been waiting to go blonde since the beginning of Summer. Im glad we made it happen for him. He's been so stoked. Tyler and Dan had a father/son date. They watched the Superman movie and had Shake Shack for dinner. While Hannah and went to Kanpai for dinner and Misomi for ice cream. Hannah had a ninja cone which was oreo ice cream with pop rocks and I had the avocado ice cream. Then we closed out the weekend at Lola's doing some chores. We ended the day with making a bracelet holder for Tyler.

So I had an epidural cortisone injection on Monday in hopes it would help my back. The jury is still out because my back still hurts but maybe in a couple weeks it will feel better.
I started to plan the kid's beach day. I got the invite done and now we plan food and activities.

This year we decided to spend the 4th of July in downtown so we can enjoy the San Diego Big Bay Boom. I booked us 3 days and 2 nights at the Embassy Suites downtown near Seaport Village. It was the perfect spot. We explored around the Midway and Seaport Village. I think the kids enjoyed it. We even brought Sophie with us.

This was a semi fun week. Dan and I took Thursday off to take the kids to the San Diego County Fair. We've been going for a few years now and hope to keep the tradition going.
We also started putting together a gym in the backyard for Tyler. He's getting into his boxing and im trying to give him all the tools he needs to be successful.
We closed the weekend with watching the sunset at Pacific Beach. The kids are wanting to venture outside more which is good. I'm hoping we can catch a few more sunsets this summer before the kids head back to school.

Both kids are finally on summer vacation. It was a semi boring week for them. Hannah had a pool party on Wednesday and Tyler did boxing Monday and Friday.
I finally finished the kids bathroom, except the floor transition piece. I did the touch up paint, added the lock and hardware to the barndoor.

Tyler competed his Freshman year on Wednesday. I totally forgot to take an end of year photo of him so he will need to do it on Wednesday when Hannah completes 7th grade.
We fired the handyman/contractor on Monday night after he never showed. He claims he was in the hospital and begged us to keep him on board yet he never showed an effort the past few weeks. All he did was mud one day of the week then didn't show for the rest of the week then painted the walls one day of thr week then didn't show the rest of the week then gave us a sob story why he couldn't work.
So this weekend I painted the rest of the walls and me and the boys brought in the vanity and toilet. I installed the toilet and bidet and both are working. The sink isn't working yet cause the drain pipe is too low so I had to buy a flexible pipe and hope it works otherwise we will need to cut the bottom of the vanity. The shower doesn't work yet because I need to install the diverter and spout but the pipe is 3 inches too long so I ordered a pipe cutter. Hopefully once I cut the pipe the spout will screw on and work. I also need to install the door too. Hopefully next weekend everything will be in place and we will have a usable and complete bathroom...over 2 months after we started the reno.
